What inspires you?

I started thinking about this question on Malle-Gianattassio's blog. My first answer is everything and anything. But lets get specific.
  • Being around genuine, loving and positive people inspire me to be a better person.
  • Nature, such as Lake Tahoe above.
  • Children, their laughter, expressions and questions.
  • Dreams
  • Imagination
  • Colors
  • Creating - it's like an addiction, the more I create, the more I need to do so.
  • Being around thought provoking, creative people.
  • Pets
  • Smells, such as pine trees, and fresh clean air
  • My hands in clay
  • Yarn
  • The ocean
What is most important though, is that I am open to the inspiration. If I'm worrying about my problems, then I miss it.

  1. It's easy to find inspiration when our minds are open. I don't know what comes first though--the inspiration or the creating or creating and then finding myself inspired. I have to think about this. Music is one of those things that sets my mind to dancing.

  2. Right, its like a spiral that just keeps getting bigger.

  3. it is wonderful that you are keenly aware of the importance of creativity in your life and that you are actively pursuing what inspires you as well as actively acknowledging it. i think being in the present moment helps... thanks for sharing your inspiration with us - it is inspiring!

  4. My list is very close to yours, I would only add, good food and good art :-).

  5. Definitely, good food and art. I would also add literature.
